Tuned-up Cupra Formentor spied testing

Seat’s performance marque Cupra has taken its first standalone model – the Formentor – out for a round of tests.

The SUV still wears disguise, so there is no discerning the smaller details. As for the powertrain, rumor has it that the new flagship is going to be called “Formentor FZ” and share the 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder with the 2019 Audi RS Q3. Outfitted like this, the Audi has 400 PS (394 hp / 293 kW) at its disposal and runs the standard sprint in 4.5 seconds.

The currently available top spec, the Formentor VZ, packs a two-liter turbo four-pot that pumps out 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW) and takes the SUV from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds. You can have a closer look at it in the attached video.
