Chevrolet Corvette Z06 reveal date announced

A Chevrolet sales representative claims the range-topping C8 Corvette Z06 will hit the spotlight on July 18, exactly two years after the premiere of the eighth generation.

As usual, the Z06 will probably get larger air intakes compared to the standard ‘Vette, tailpipes in the middle of the diffuser, and an intricate body kit with a fixed rear wing.

The racetrack-oriented Corvette C8.R will most likely supply the engine, but the 5.5-liter naturally aspirated mill may end up with a boost from its usual 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) to around 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW). The eight-speed Tremec transmission is also likely due a fair share of improvements.

The Z06 ‘Vette will be a model year 2022 car, which means sales will start in the second half of 2021.
