Porsche talks about the Taycan Cross Turismo

Stefan Weckbach, leader of the Porsche Taycan project, has shared some details about the upcoming wagon-shaped Taycan Cross Turismo. In a nutshell, the newcomer should offer more interior space, be more family-friendly and feel at home in mild off-road conditions.

The car comes based on the 2018 Mission E Cross Turismo Concept and sports a redesigned roofline, railings, a larger trunk, and rear seats with plenty of legroom. Weckbach says active leisure enthusiasts who often leave the city will know to love the new Taycan.

From the technical point of view, the car will get a reconfigured suspension and more ground clearance, which should enable it to conquer moderately bad terrain and gravel. It will have a dedicated Off-Road Mode that the sedan lacks.

Other than that, the wagon will be identical to the Taycan sedan, coming with all the J1 platform specs, a dual-range reducer, and multiple powertrains to choose from.
