VW Talagon has three seat rows, V6 and 299 PS

Volkswagen has come to the 2021 Auto Shanghai expo with its largest crossover SUV so far: the Talagon. The car will initially ship with a three-row cabin and a wide variety of powertrains rated up to 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW).

The newcomer looks like a spitting image of the Volkswagen SMV Concept. It runs on MQB architecture and can be obtained with a 2.0-liter turbo-four mill boosted to either 186 PS (183 hp / 137 kW) or 220 PS (217 hp / 160 kW). The top specification will take advantage of a 2.5-liter six-cylinder with the abovementioned 299 PS at the crank. The only available transmission is semi-automatic, but you can choose between FWD and AWD.

Interior highlights include an 8-inch infotainment display, a digital dashboard, a sensor-based HVAC control panel, and a panoramic sunroof (optional).
