Kia Ceed hatchback and wagon spied underway to mid-life refresh

As evidenced by these spy photos of a redesigned Kia Ceed hatchback and its estate counterpart, the model will be getting a facelift soon.

Note the especially thick camo at the front and in the back where most of the changes have taken place. In all likelihood, this new take on the Ceed will see it getting new bumpers, a different radiator grille and restyled lighting all around. The model also sports the new Kia logo on the hubcaps.

Another major innovation is coming up in the shape of a hybrid powertrain. According to reports, the company will be using the same mild-hybrid system it used for the 2021 Hyundai i30: a 1.5-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor joining forces for 158 PS (156 HP / 116 kW) and 253 Nm (187 lb-ft) of torque. Non-hybridized options will also be available, including some diesels.

The official premiere should take place in the second half of 2021.
