2022 VW Tiguan Allspace is longer, safer and more tech-heavy than its predecessor

Volkswagen has officially introduced an update to the long-wheelbase Tiguan model, known in Europe as the Allspace. Prices are pending, but unofficial sources are saying €37,000 will be the new minimum.

The facelifted car is 22 mm (0.9 inches) longer than the old version shown in the video thanks to a redesigned from fascia, but otherwise stays unchanged in terms of dimensions. It has new bumpers, side sills, radiator grille with a 2D logo, lighting, and wheels available in sizes up to 20 inches.

The interior is typical Tiguan fare, although the controls are now touch-based rather than hardware, and the HVAC control panel is now a digital display located on the center console.

Options include wireless gadget charging, Wi-Fi, ventilated front seats, and the IQ.Drive assist package.

Customers in the United States will get their Allspace with only one engine, specifically a 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW).
