Geely Vision Starburst previews the future of marque’s design

Chinese carmaker Geely has unveiled Vision Starburst, a design study that goes for something completely different this time.

Geely Design Shanghai developed the exterior and the cabin of the car drawing inspiration from ‘processes occurring in space’. Guy Burgoyne, who leads the studio, compares the creation of the vehicle with a birth of a new star. Interior highlights include a floating console, an intricately shaped gear selector, and Cosmic Rays décor.

The one really remarkable thing about the concept is its abundance of illuminated and glowing parts. Even the arches glow differently depending on whether the car moves, idles on a parking lot or charges up its battery. The interior lighting and sounds are also dependent on the currently selected drive mode and the state of the car.

The designers admit that the design study will never go into production as is, but its individual features and traits will eventually trickle down to the mass market via other models.
