Check out a 740-PS, 52YO Chevrolet Camaro restomod from LA

Many sports cars lose value as they age, but the timeless 1969 Chevrolet Camaro seems immune to this affliction. For today, let’s look at an impressively restored example featured in a video by AutotopiaLA.

Vintage Fabrication came up with all-new bodywork for the Camaro, manually shaping the replacement panels out of metal sheets and painting the result orange with grey accents. The whole looks rather unusual and not what you’d expect of a Camaro, but sporty and stylish nonetheless.

Pop up the swollen hood, and you will discover a 6.2-liter LS9 V8 taken straight out of a sixth-gen Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. It churns out 740 PS (730 hp / 544 kW) to an automatic gearbox, which the reviewer points out as his main gripe with the project. Indeed, it looks as though stick shift would suit the build much better.

Even so, the sheer quality of execution and craftsmanship is remarkable, wouldn’t you say?
