VW Taigo specs, launch timeframe and pricing announced for Europe

Volkswagen has introduced another all-new car, a coupe-like crossover utility vehicle named the Taigo. It will be assembled in Spain and be available in most countries across Europe, as well as Turkey and Africa.

Customers will get to choose from as many as five trim levels. The standard one includes LED lighting at both ends, an 8-inch digital gauge panel, and a 6.5-inch multimedia display. Higher trims will offer larger dash and infotainment display diagonals.

The list of options mentions 18-inch wheels, black roof, sunroof, driving assistance, drive mode selection, and an electronic diff lock. Power can come from a three-cylinder engine available in 95 PS (94 hp / 70 kW) and 110 PS (108 hp / 81 kW), or a four-cylinder one good for 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW). Transmission choices include DSG and five/six-speed manual options.

Sales in Europe will start later this summer. The MSRP is €20,000
