Watch the VW ID Buzz being test-driven in Alps

Volkswagen unveiled its ID Buzz Concept a few years ago, endowing it with VW Kombi styling cues, and many of us wondered whether the final production car would look the same. Here is a video that could provide the answer.

The all-electric van was spotted testing in the Alps covered in ‘smart camo’ to prevent us from discerning the most important design elements. Among other things, the entire front fascia, lower front bumper and rear fascia are hidden from view. Whoever came up with this idea for a test mule wrap should be applauded for their effort: note especially how it makes the taillights look indistinguishable from those of the Opel Insignia.

Long story short, there is precious little we know about the exterior appearance of the ID Buzz, so unless it stays true to its original design from 2017, surprises are to be expected.

The Europe launch is scheduled for 2022, and North America launch for 2023.
