Audi teases retro-inspired Skysphere Concept ahead of Aug. 10 premiere
Here are a few teaser pics and a video Audi published to announce its newest concept car, the Skysphere. Based closely on the Horch 853A, it is not just a new rendition of a familiar design but also an attempt to envision the future through the eyes of 1930-s era car engineers.
The design study will celebrate its show debut on August 10, 2021, but in the meantime, we have these images to go by. Note the elongated profile, the prominent hood and the decorative front grille rendered useless by an all-electric powertrain. All specifics are being kept secret so far.
Elsewhere, the concept sports modern LED lights and a glowing Audi logo. The body style reminds us of the open-topped Grand Touring model, as does the short coupe-like rear end. The company claims that the cabin of the Skysphere is awash with luxury and comfort-oriented features, but we will have to wait until the show to see it.
