2022 Toyota RAV4 Adventure hits Europe with stylistic tweaks, new features

Toyota has expanded its RAV4 offer in Europe by introducing Adventure, a new special trim that incorporates all the 2022MY facelift traits.

Compared to the older version (see video), the new Adventure sports an aggressive front bumper, a redesigned radiator grille, fender flares and black 19-inch wheels. The interior trim involves imitation leather with orange stitching and embossed seat backs. Fancy kick plates are included, too.

The RAV4 Adventure is the first version to take advantage of new LED lighting and anti-fog lights. New dual-tone exterior finishes were added, largely based on an iconic khaki tint of the Land Cruiser FJ40. There are new wheels as well, and the power window controls are now backlit for convenience. A single USB-C charger port is provided, while power-adjusted front seats are included in standard equipment.

In Europe, the Toyota RAV4 Adventure will invariably ship with a 2.5-liter non-turbo engine assisted by two electric motors for 222 PS (219 hp / 163 kW) total. Other trims will be obtainable with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine good for 175 PS (173 hp / 129 kW) and two hybrids rated at 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) and 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW).

Sales are expected to start in the first quarter of 2022.
