McLaren helped design this elderly $115k Buick GNX

A 34-year-old Buick Grand National coupe equipped to the highest specification is being auctioned off with bidding at $115,000 so far.

Buick waved the Grand National farewell with the GNX series, where ‘X’ stands for Experimental. McLaren is said to have assisted in designing the model, outfitting it with a 3.8-liter turbocharged V6, among other things. The engine produced 276 PS (272 hp / 203 kW) and 488 Nm (360 lb-ft) of torque.

Elsewhere, the coupe with the chassis number 255 features an aggressive exterior, reinforced body, 16-inch wheels, upgraded suspension, and an all-black finish.

The odometer shows less than 2,000 kilometers (1,240 miles) of use. Amenities on board include AC, cruise control, GM-Delco cassette player with a graphical EQ, power windows, and a power-assisted driver seat. Such a spec cost U.S. $29,290 when new.

In early summer last year, a Buick GNX with the serial number 480 and 14 kilometers (9 miles) on the clock managed to sell for a record $275,000. You can have a look at it in the enclosed video.
