Winnebago debuts a compact, yet well-equipped camper trailer

Aside from revealing a wheelchair-friendly campervan yesterday, U.S.-based motorhome maker Winnebago announced another new product: the Hike 100, a lightweight trailer for camping enthusiasts.

Coming in at only 1,225 kg (2,700 lbs), the Winnebago Hike 100 can be easily towed by a mid-size crossover SUV. It comes in four layouts, all of which include a sleeping area, a mini kitchen, and a shower cabin. Customers may choose between a bunk bed for two, a queen’s bed, and two separate beds.

Should the buyer want it, the trailer will be outfitted with additional attachments for bikes, canoes, kayaks, and other tourism-related equipment. A slide-out awning is provided, and there are tanks on board for clear water (31 gallon / 117 liters) and used water (4.7 gallons / 18 liters). The WC has its own septic tank, and all three come with a heating system to ensure that the plumbing doesn’t rupture in winter.

Prices remain pending.
