Hyundai Elantra N starts just below $32k

Sport sedans are not dead yet, apparently: the Hyundai Elantra N is particularly popular in the dwindling market segment, and now, we know how much it will cost in the United States.

The MSRP is $31,900 before a mandatory $1,025 fee. For your $32,925, you receive a sedan powered by a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder rated at 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW). A temporary boost feature can briefly increase the power output to 290 PS (286 hp / 213 kW). The transmission is six-speed manual – another rarity in the modern world – and the drive stays on the front axle no matter what.

For $34,425 including delivery, you can ditch the stick and the third pedal for an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Hyundai claims that this configuration is the fastest and needs only five seconds for a sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph). Irrespectively from the transmission type, the new Elantra N benefits from sports-friendly suspension tweaks, an electronic limited-slip differential, and an improved exhaust system.
