Honda Civic Type R sighted dominating the ‘Ring

Honda will reveal the next Civic Type R in June, but it seems that it still has some pre-production tests to run. The latest spy shoot depicts the hot hatch from various angles as it storms the Nurburgring.

Honda continues using its usual reddish wrap on the car, but there is no hiding its sporty chops. These include an impressive rear wing, an exhaust system culminating in a trio of central pipes, and slammed suspension.

The way we see it, the new Civic Type R could get an improved version of the standard 2.0-liter turbo. Customers in the USA get nearly 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW) out of the same engine, and chances are good that the output will be lifted a bit further. The transmission will be manual with no alternatives.
