Polestar contemplates putting its O2 convertible into production

Polestar introduced a design study named Precept two years ago, which later evolved into a four-seat cabriolet called the O2. As it now turns out, the company sees it as more than just a concept.

Speaking in an interview with Top Gear, Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath confirmed he wanted to mass-produce the O2. He admitted it would be challenging to pull off, because the company has little idea how exactly to make it viable on the mass market. He likened the state of things to a freshly finished painting that needed time to dry up before you could take a look and decide whether it was any good.

In other words, the Swedish automaker will have to find a way to somehow integrate the four-seat convertible into its lineup, which currently consists of more mass-market-oriented models than that.
