Aurus Senat presents select specs

The creators of the hydrogen fuel cell version of the Aurus Senat luxury sedan claim it can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in four seconds, which is two seconds faster than the gasoline version. The launch date and pricing remain unknown.

The car comes equipped with an electric drivetrain and an electrochemical power generator working off hydrogen. All four wheels are driven, but how many motors drive them is not specified at this moment.

A full tank of hydrogen gas and a 100-kWh liquid-cooled traction battery join efforts to provide the car with at least 600 kilometers (373 miles) of range. The power is not stated anywhere. An older Senat limo weighed less and had 598 PS (590 hp / 440 kW) at its disposal. Since we are told that the sprint time is better by two seconds in the new, heavier version, it must be considerably more powerful than the old one.

At this time, the Russian automaker is still making test and demo examples of the car, claiming it needs to optimize tech, refine the standards and modify the specifications before mass production.

The fuel-cell-based Aurus Senat was originally announced last spring. The production was scheduled for 2024.
