A trio of Ferrari LaFerrari prototypes heading for auction next month

Three Ferrari LaFerrari test cars built in different years will be available to haggle for at the Monterey Car Week in mid-August. None is street-legal, but the sellers believe the collectors’ value is high.

No price estimates were given. The first entry is an 11-year-old F150 Muletto M4, by far the least production-ready prototype of the bunch. It is a test mule running on a modernized 458 Italia chassis. Ferrari used it to test key drivetrain components at early development stages, including evaluating emissions.

The second entry is called F150 Mulotipo MP1 and is one year younger. It benefits from a pre-production LaFerrari monocoque cabin made from carbon fiber, but looks little like the final car. The manufacturer mostly used it to study how well different units and components fit with each other.

Finally, there is an F150 Prototipe Preserie PS1 built back in 2014, which looks identical to its final production version. It has the production chassis and active aerodynamic kit, but its drivetrain is less polished than the final variant.
