The very first Cadillac Escalade-V sells for $0.5M

The Cadillac Escalade-V is the marque’s most powerful and expensive Escalade model on record, and the first example to have rolled off the assembly line has just went under the hammer for 500,000 USD.

The company will not profit from the deal, as the entire amount will be redirected to charity purposes. Furthermore, Cadillac threw in another $25,000 into the donation pool during the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las-Vegas this week.

‘Cadillac champions big dreams and bold ambitions, and we are thrilled with this auction result,’ brand VP Rory Harvey said commenting on the sale.

Powering the new Escalade-V flagship is a 6.2-liter V8 boosted to deliver 692 PS (682 hp / 509 kW) and 885 Nm (653 lb-ft) of torque. It manages to reach 97 km/h (60 miles per hour) in 4.4 seconds despite its sheer size and weight.
