Mitsubishi has previewed a new Outlander spec in China, where it produces the SUV together with GAC. According to AutoHom.cn, it will become available to pre-order on September 30, 2022.
In its latest version, the crossover comes equipped by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine assisted by a 48-volt engine starter, making it a mild hybrid. The powertrain produces 215 PS (212 hp / 158 kW) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque working in tandem with a CVT. All-wheel drive is a paid option, and the top speed is rated at 195 km/h (121 mph).
Judging by the photos, the Outlander for China looks identical to its international version both outside and inside. Still, AutoChina mentions a reworked 10.25-inch infotainment display in the cabin, which is larger than customers in Europe ever get (there is an optional 9-inch screen). The Chinese spec also enjoys an optional third row of seats, an upgraded all-around camera view system, and a 10.8-inch heads-up display.
The prices are pending. Mitsubishi has so far said nothing regarding the availability of this Outlander spec in any other countries.
