Fellten devises a versatile, fully reversible EV kit for classic cars worldwide

Electromodding old sports cars is a dubious undertaking. On the one hand, EVs are all the rage these days and being eco-friendly is important. On the other hand, the feel and character of the original car often gets lost in the conversion. This is what Fellten tries to counter with its latest project.

The company has electrification kits available for the Porsche 911, the older Mini models and the Land Rover Defender. The motor and the battery pack are installed in such a way as to leave the original ICE drivetrain intact and make all changes reversible.

Fellten merged from two other tuners who explored the prospects of electromodding: Zero EV and Jaunt Motors. Before the work can begin, a team of specialists uses a 3D scanner to determine where to place the new hardware in each specific case. Customers can choose from different power options and also order modern features such as regenerative braking, hill climb/descend assists and more.

Felllten says offices are already open in the UK and Australia, and a U.S. branch will be joining the others soon.

Watch the full 10-minute-long video for an overview of this fascinating new approach to battery-powered restomods.
