Tank 500-based 6x6 pickup truck reveals cabin

Great Wall continue testing a six-wheel truck that looks similar to the Shanhai Poer model (see video), which, in turn, is based on the Tank 500 chassis. Let us review the latest spy shots courtesy of AutoHome.cn.

The vehicle shares its interior layout completely with the Poer, including the center tunnel, the gear selector, the dash panel and the steering wheel. However, while the alleged source truck has a 14.5-inch touchscreen inside in all trims, the newcomer makes do with a much smaller head unit.

From the outside, the purported Poer 6x6 resembles its four-wheel counterpart up to the front grille and lighting, while the bumper looks different – probably reinforced. The original Poer also features a tailgate you can either swing open like double doors or drop down – whichever is more convenient. In contrast, the 6x6 shown here appears to have a basic drop-down tailgate.

Some of the accessories already being tested along with the vehicle – a snorkel, a winch and possibly some others – clearly indicate that the manufacturer envisions it as a capable off-roader.

Nothing is known about the drivetrain, either. The Shanhai Poer borrows its engine from the Tank 500, a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with a 48V starter-generator making 354 PS (349 hp / 260 kW) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque. A hybrid add-on is also not out of the question.
