There are few car brands in the world that care about comfort more than Mercedes-Maybach does. These cars are meant to be chauffeured, and decidedly not tuned or raced. Still, there is an exception to every rule, as this straight-piped Maybach 57S proves in a spectacular fashion.

The tuner who carried out the exhaust modification said he never heard of a Maybach undergoing this kind of tuning before. We are going to go ahead and just assume it is the world’s first project of this kind – after all, you would be deaf not to hear a straight-piped V12 making 612 PS (604 hp / 450 kW). In fact, check out the video and you will be impressed with the soundtrack the Maybach is capable of.

The fun doesn’t end there. Mitesh, the owner of the car, is relatively well known for his penchant towards tuning expensive rides in bizarre ways. He is also not lacking self-irony. In the video, once the tuner finishes installing the 76mm (3-inch) straight pipe, he jokingly offers Mitesh to test the upgrade by drifting on an unpaved dirt patch nearby. The man responds along the lines of, “No, no, you just don’t do that to a Maybach, it’s out of the question.” He then proceeds to hop in the car and do just that with evident joy.
