Chrysler PT Cruiser puts on a pickup guise thanks to tuners

This Chrysler PT Cruiser is 20 years old, has a truck bed and is on sale in the USA for $44,500, almost four times the average price of the original hatchback from 2003.
The seller claims that the mileage doesn’t exceed some 13,800 km (8,575 miles), but that’s only true for the conversion use. The actual (total) mileage is unknown.
The tuning company is uncredited, but the listing points out that all changes were made by hand. The rear part of the cabin was deleted and the scraps used to shape a modest-sized truck bed with stainless-steel lining. The stock taillights and roof hatch were preserved, but the hatch no longer moves.
Elsewhere, the project car has a new radiator grille and a two-tone paintjob. The rear suspension makes use of air-ride components.
The powertrain stays the same unless you count a new exhaust system with side pipes. The 2.4-liter inline-four engine still churns out its usual 180 PS (177 hp / 132 kW).
Chrysler produced over a million such hatchbacks in the 2000s and 2010s.
