Porsche reveals a video showing its first full-electric car during winter tests
As you probably know, winter is the ideal season for companies to test their prototype vehicles in adverse road conditions. Here’s some official footage showing the first full-electric car developed from scratch by the German luxury manufacturer Porsche. The vehicle, which some believe may be called ‘Mission E’, should premiere in 2019 with a price tag of at least U.S. $85,000.
The sporty battery car shown in the video looks very much like the Mission E Concept demonstrated to the public as early as 2015. The only thing different from the concept model is a pair of ‘suicide’ rear doors that open against the traffic.
Porsche reports that the new Mission E runs 500 km (311 mi) on a single battery charge and can go back to 80 percent charge in just 15 minutes thanks to the quick charge feature. Its drivetrain includes two electric motors together capable of 600+ hp, which enables the car to dart from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in mere 3.5 seconds.
