VW ID.3 reminisces about Golf Mk2 with a one-off special

The limited-run Volkswagen ID.3 GTX Fire+Ice echoes the same aesthetic as the Golf II “Fire and Ice” released in the year 1990.

Like that one, the car seen here has been co-developed between Volkswagen AG and Swiss streetwear brand Bogner. It was given an exclusive paint job with custom graphics applied on top, a set of custom 21-inch wheels and a multi-color interior trim resembling that of the original car from 34 years ago.

The first Golf Fire and Ice edition was supposed to be capped at 10,000 production units, but the company ended up selling a whopping 16,700 units thanks to overwhelming demand. In contrast, the ID.3 seen here is still a one-off, and it remains speculative whether it will ever reach production or not.
