Porsche unveils the refreshed 911 GT3 R, costs €459,000
Porsche has officially launched pre-sales of its updated 911 GT3 R sports car. Those ready to invest in the ultra-luxurious vehicle may place a €459,000 order with one of the official dealerships of the marque. First shipments are expected in December at the earliest.
The reworked Porsche 911 GT3 R comes with an improved four-liter V6 engine with 550 hp (410 kW) at its disposal. The manufacturer stressed that the engine performance may be switched to a lower value should the racing regulations require it. In addition to this, the throttle valves have been redesigned for faster, ‘sharper’ reaction to the gas pedal.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 R also comes with reworked braking, mechanical differential lock, a six-speed sequential gearbox and a spacious fuel tank that has filler ports on either side of the vehicle.
For the first time in the history of the race-track coupe, it comes equipped with an air conditioning unit that can cool the driver’s helmet and seat as well as the air inside the cockpit. The driver’s seat now benefits from a more solid mount structure for additional safety. The doors are reinforced with purpose-designed plates made of aluminum, Kevlar and polymers.
