GAC to premiere Trumpchi GS5 facelift
The Chinese car manufacturer GAC gets ready to premiere a refreshed version of its Trumpchi GS5 crossover SUV. First photos showing the design of the vehicle are already available.
The next-generation GAC Trumpchi GS5 is 4,695 mm (15.4 ft.) long, 1,885 mm (6.2 ft.) wide and 1,700 mm (5.6 ft.) tall. No detailed information exists about its drivetrain, but observers expect the car to come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated somewhere between 152 and 169 hp (113 – 126 kW).
The GAC Trumpchi GS5 saw its initial market release in China in 2012. The first generation was based on the Alfa Romeo 166 platform that the Chinese manufacturer had bought in 2008. The car received a mid-generational refresh two years later.
The manufacturer remains silent on whether the second-gen GAC Trumpchi GS5 gets to keep its original platform. It could be mentioned, however, that the current generation sells for U.S. $26,700 and above.
