Car photographers have managed to take a series of photos of the shiny new Cadillac XT5 running some initial road tests ahead of its premiere in early 2019.

Luckily enough, the SUV only had its radiator grille and both bumpers wrapped in camouflage film. Perhaps these are the only two parts that will be refreshed in the next version. The manufacturer has earlier said that the radiator grille would be styled similarly to that of the Escala Concept which debuted two years ago.

Based on the shots thus far revealed, the upcoming Cadillac XT5 facelift won’t affect the dimensions of the vehicle in any way. On the other hand, the engine lineup will be supplemented with two new gasoline units, a 2.0L V4 turbo and a 3.6L V6 with 320 hp / 239 kW.

The vehicle is based on the C1XX architecture and reportedly weighs in at 126 kg (278 lb) under its antecedent.

The prices and specifications aren’t being revealed yet, but the current generation is available in three trim levels: Platinum, Premium, and Luxury.
