G-Power packs 800 horses under the hood of the BMW M5

German tuning atelier G-Power has released three engine boost kits for the BMW M5 (F90). The production car comes equipped with a 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine rated at 600 hp (447 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb·ft) of torque.

The Stage 1 kit improves the performance to 700 hp (522 kW) and 840 Nm (620 lb·ft) of torque. This can be accomplished by either flashing new firmware or installing a chip.

Stage 2 brings 750 hp (560 kW) and 920 Nm (680 lb·ft) to the table. This is made possible thanks to a new downpipe and another update of the engine control firmware.

Finally, Stage 3 squeezes the stock engine for 800 hp (595 kW) and 980 Nm (723 lb·ft) of torque. It adds a carbon/titanium exhaust system with four 100 mm (4”) pipes.

G-Power claims the fully upgraded car can accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, as opposed to the 3.4s of its production version. It can also hit 335 km/h instead of the factory-guaranteed 305 km/h.

As usual, the atelier also offers a set of 21-inch wheels and a carbon hood cover to go with the upgrade of your choice.
