This 1995 Nissan Skyline GT-R is nearly pristine

A 27-year-old R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R will go under the hammer in Monterey, CA in mid-August. The price is not available, but with a touch over 900 miles (1,500 km) on the clock and a rare exterior paint, the car could shovel in a small fortune.

The record states that this right-hand-drive GT-R was originally made for the Japanese market. It had stayed in a private collection in Hong Kong for a while and has only recently made it into the United States.

The car is fully authentic and in excellent condition. GT-R models of the R33 era used to be actively modded, but this example seems to have escaped that fate, which its owner claims makes it exceptional.

Power for the Godzilla comes from a 2.6-liter RB26DETT engine mated with a five-speed manual gearbox and Atessa AWD. The output amounts to 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW). As for the exterior finish, it is called Midnight Purple and is considered very rare. Like another one of its kind, Millenium Jade, it is particularly sought after by collectors and fans.

The listing emphasizes that the R33 generation of the Skyline GT-R has only recently turned 25 years old, finally becoming legal to import into the United States. Since many collectors in North America waited on that exact opportunity to grab it, prices could easily skyrocket to several hundred thousand USD.
