This 19-year-old Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R trimmed to the AWD V-Spec II Nur specification (shown in the video) just brought its seller in Japan 60.5 million Yen, or nearly $550,000.
The owner set the reserve at 50,000,000 Yen, so the sale started from this amount. Interestingly enough, this exact car was acquired for 35.2 million Yen just three years ago. In other words, its price has grown by 1.7 since 2018. Looks like another proof that exotic cars have become a highly profitable source of investment lately.
The sporty coupe belongs to a series of just 718 units, out of which only 159 were white. It came out as a sort of farewell to the R34 generation and utilized a 2.6-liter inline-six twin-turbo. The mill was officially stated to produce 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW), but rumors abounded that it actually made 334 PS (330 hp / 246 kW) and was deliberately underrated to pass some legal restrictions active at the time.
A similar vehicle with 362 km (225 miles) under its belt went up on sale last year priced at U.S. $485,000.
