Opel revives Frontera badge for an electric CUV

Open has officially confirmed that its next car to be released this year will be named Frontera. The company had used the nameplate for an off-roader in 1991–2004 (see photos 3 through 10 below), but the new one will have neither a frame nor an engine.

Only the most basic info is available at this moment. Opel claims the new crossover will be spacious, comfortable and versatile. As such, it should appeal to both families and active leisure enthusiasts, despite lacking a proper body-on-frame construction.

‘Attractive pricing’ is mentioned, too. According to the company, the new Frontera may not look like its predecessor, but it surely lives up to its image.

The full reveal should take place in a few weeks, and sales are scheduled to begin later this year.
