Porsche 959 ideological successor aces first tests

Swedish tuning company Kalmar Automotive has reported wrapping up the initial testing stage of its Kalmar 9X9 supercar. The carbon-bodied coupe spent three days racing on the track and never had a single breakdown.

The exclusive ride draws inspiration from the iconic Porsche 959, which came out in 1987 and 1988 in a production batch limited to fewer than 300 units. Its modern counterpart weighs only 1,250 kilos (2,755 lbs) and is heavily track-focused, but street-legal nonetheless.

All technical details will have to wait, and we still don’t have a launch date or any pricing info. You can still check out the video from tuningblog.eu to get an idea of what it sounds like. Kalmar plans to proceed to the remaining tests soon.
