Porsche 997 just got half a century older thanks to Ruehle

German tuner Ruehle proposes an interesting conversion of the relatively-modern Porsche 911 (997). If you want it, the company will make it look like the renowned 1973 Carrera RSR. Prices start from U.S. $399,000.

The coupe ends up with an all-new and widened stainless-steel body designed specifically for the project. All parts are fabricated and none are sourced from existing Porsches, the aftermarket company claims.

The engine and the interior stay standard, but customers looking for more may order a trim overhaul and a bespoke 4.3-liter flat-six for a bit of extra thrust. The Carrera shipped in a variety of powertrain configurations and maxed out at 385 PS (380 hp / 283 kW); the custom engine should deliver a fair bit more than that.

Ordering a conversion like this is possible from Ruehle offices in Schorndorf, Germany and Montclair, California, USA. It’s listed under the name “F97”.
