This odd-looking Rolls-Royce Spectre EV is a Ghost in disguise

An owner of a Rolls-Royce Ghost wanted it stylized after the British marque’s latest-and-greatest coupe, the electric Spectre. They insisted on keeping the twin-turbo V12 under the hood, so it didn’t end up yet another electric conversion.

The company behind the build is Engler Automotive, previously only known by a futuristic quad bike concept. Before you jump to conclusions, consider that the bike also had a V12 – Engler seems attached to this type of engine, and we can see why.

Anyway, the so-called CoupéTail lost two of its doors in the conversion and received a completely new rear end to justify its new name. Engler took care to pad the interior with more noise insulation so as not to compromise the ride comfort Rolls-Royce cars are famous for. The engineers also rebuilt the engine, boosting it from the initial 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) to 760 PS (750 hp / 560 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. The car now sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than four seconds.

Inspired by this first example, the company now plans to build as many as 19 CoupéTail examples, five of them designed in a collaboration with an artist. The modified Spirit of Ecstasy figurine seen in the gallery here will be their standout feature.

You’d expect a custom car like this to cost a small fortune, but “small” doesn’t really apply here. The official price is – brace for it – €2,200,000. For a bit of perspective, the Spectre EV starts around the €400,000 mark in Europe.
