Car Tuning
The German tuner with the upside-down trident logo has come up with three boost options for the Mercedes-AMG E63 S sedan and wagon. Both can reach 350 km/h (217 mph) with the tuning done properly.
Many tuners regard ‘Stage 1’ upgrades as simple chip tunes, but this has never been the case with Posaidon. Its Stage 1 kit consists of improved turbochargers, a sports-grade air filter, and downpipes with catalysts. Software receives improvements across the engine, gearbox, and drivetrain as a whole.
The net result is 830 PS (819 hp / 610 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. The car needs 3.2 seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill and only limits itself electronically to 350 km/h (217 mph) because of the risk of tire failure.
Stage 2 switches the turbos out for high-end spherical ones, culminating in 880 PS (868 hp / 647 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. Finally, Stage 3 necessitates some machining done on the valve housings and the cylinder head assembly, as well as the installation of a methanol injection system. When all is set up, the transmission gets hit with 940 PS (927 hp / 691 kW) and 1,280 Nm (944 lb-ft) of torque.
Prices are not public, but the kind of tuning Posaidon does never comes cheaply. Those wishing to save money and still put the overturned trident badge on their E-Class may opt for a Chiptune package that promises ‘only’ 707 PS (697 hp / 520 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft).
