Skoda Vision O promises us a new, eco-friendly Octavia

Skoda has revealed the first teaser image of the Vision O Concept, a design study meant to show us the evolution of its Modern Solid design language while simultaneously hinting at the next-generation Octavia.

More info will be revealed at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, Germany on September 9–12, 2025. In the meantime, the company says it drew inspiration from its rich heritage going all the way down to the L&K 110. The first-gen Octavia that debuted in 1960 and proceeded to sell 3,000,000 units worldwide is also mentioned, and some design cues were borrowed from the Superb wagon only added to the Superb lineup in the second generation in 2008.

Interestingly enough, the name “Vision O” doesn’t just stand for “Octavia”. It also symbolizes “cyclical design”, which means reusing and recycling materials to minimize the environmental footprint from car production.

Skoda describes the Vision O as an elegant vehicle with an expressive aerodynamic profile and a gently slanted roof. It also mentions a “functional and ergonomic” interior without going into any detail.

Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer said before that the company was working on a new Octavia concept. He admitted that he expected it to garner some polarizing feedback with its unusual appearance, but said it was inevitable as the brand language continues to evolve.
