Skoda Peaq EV primes for premiere on June 23rd

Skoda has posted the final design sketches of its largest vehicle so far: the all-electric Peaq seven-seater. It’s scheduled for debut in France on June 23, 2026, and is expected to go on sale in Europe before the end of the year.

As some of you may remember, the model had a comparatively long and troubled development cycle. When it debuted in concept form back in 2022 under the name “Vision 7S”, Skoda said it had been conceptualized since 2021. Due to the ongoing crisis at Volkswagen Group, it had taken nearly five years for it to reach the market on that company’s already-outdated MEB platform.

This doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily a bad car – just that it still runs on older 400-volt electrics and may otherwise lack the refinement of the latest generation of electric vehicles. It’s going on sale with a 63-kWh and a 91-kWh battery pack to choose from, the latter said to deliver more than 600 kilometers (373 miles) of WLTP range per charge, but the charging times remain to be revealed.

While certainly a large SUV by Skoda’s standards, the Peak EV is actually mid-sized with a body length of 4,874 millimeters (191.9 inches). It will primarily be available with three rows and seven seats in total (2+3+2, bench seat in the middle row). However, buyers will be able to choose a five-seat (2+3) version to get more luggage space in the back.

The powertrains aren’t secret any longer, either. The single-motor spec is good for 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and the dual-motor one for 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW), Skoda says. The former option is RWD and the latter is AWD.

The interior and the pricing details have yet to be revealed.
