Long-wheelbase Tank 300 shows up in official photos

Chinese off-roader maker Tank has posted some official images of its stretched model 300, exposing some significant design differences from the regular version.

Among other things, the front overhang of the new Tank looks shortened, which should make it more viable away from the trodden paths. Likewise, the front bumper has been reshaped to improve the approach angle. The radiator grille is now black and sports “TANK” lettering in huge letters in the middle.

According to the certification spec sheet, the GWM Tank 300 L features a wheelbase that’s 257 millimeters (10.1 inches) longer than standard. The company has yet to reveal how significant the gains are for the interior and the trunk space.

The powertrains have also been confirmed already. The base 2.0T spec now churns out 238 PS (235 hp / 175 kW) instead of the former 227 PS (224 hp / 167 kW). Further ICE and hybrid options will be available, with the range-topping hybrid now rated at 200 kilometers (124 miles) in all-electric mode.

The full reveal remains scheduled for Monday, June 6.
