Video: Tesla CardboardTruck DIY

The much-hyped Tesla Cybertruck won’t hit production until at least 2021, leaving people like Eric Decker here too frustrated to wait and too eager to improvise.

The U.S. man watched the famous Cybertruck presentation by Elon Musk and felt like making his own contribution to the already overflowing pool of memes surrounding the hapless truck. To this end, he decided to go much farther than just using Photoshop and built a rough 1:1 replica of the CBRTRK using his Ford F-150, plenty of cardboard, and sticky tape.

The job took way more time and effort than originally intended, as you can see for yourself by watching the video.

The jury-rigged Cybertruck can only be driven in dry weather – and only slowly, at that, because of the tendency of its cardboard bodywork to disintegrate at higher speeds. And as for the bullet proofing, let us just hope it never comes to that!

The radiator grille and the stock F-150 wheels aren’t the only things betraying the rather obvious fake, but the author claims he has managed to fool several people into believing that this is an early Cybertruck development vehicle.

Decker now enjoys social network fame, with his commenters often expressing the thought that Tesla Inc. should be proud of causing so much interest towards its products.
