Toyota recalls the 2026 Camry & Corolla Cross due to fire risks

A poorly fastened bolt in the invertor unit of the hybrid 2025/2026 Toyota Camry and 2026 Corolla Cross can lead to a short circuit and a fire, NHTSA reports.

All owners are advised to visit an authorized service center as soon as possible to get their invertor units serviced for free. The automaker reckons that around 55,000 vehicles are affected in total.

It is separately noted that, even if the circuitry doesn’t short out, the loose bolt may eventually cause the car to lose power and go into emergency mode on the road, potentially leading to an incident.

On a side note, Ford was the last year’s undisputed recall leader in the United States with a total of 153 campaigns announced encompassing over 12 million vehicles.
