Toyota announces next-gen Corolla, Century coupe-SUV and Lexus six-wheeler

Toyota’s Japan Mobility Show lineup is intriguing and more than a bit weird: most announcement images depict a conceptual coupe-SUV version of the Century, but there’s a badass-looking new Corolla and a Lexus minivan… on six wheels.

All details are pending, so let’s take a closer look at the images. Starting with the coupe-like Century crossover, it seems to feature an all-new front fascia complete with pixelated LED headlights and a bezel-free radiator grille. The doors slide to open, and you can choose to slide them towards the front or towards the rear end depending on the available space.

The next-generation Corolla looks in line with the marque’s fully electric vehicles. It cuts a dynamic profile and rocks a distinct “Toyota EV” front end with a molded hood and vertical headlights. A charging port can be seen on the front-left fender, suggesting that the company’s bestseller will first debut as an electric car or at least a hybrid. What we still don’t know is whether it will be shown in a production-ready form or as a concept.

Rounding off the trio is a Lexus single-space minivan riding on large-diameter front wheels and a quartet of smaller wheels in the back. It has its own distinct light design and may eventually distill into the next generation of the Lexus LM, although this remains to be confirmed.
