Toyota Corolla Cross facelift introduced in Thailand

Having debuted in the summer of 2020, the Toyota Corolla Cross has now been facelifted for the Thai market. There are only slight exterior and interior changes and nothing new in the powertrain department.

The new car is virtually impossible to tell from the old one from the side or the rear end. At the front end, there are at least new headlights (now LED-based in all trim levels) and a different bumper with an integrated honeycomb mesh. A light bar has also been added between the headlights, but that’s about all.

Inside, the seats boast new upholstery and both the 10-inch digital dash and 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen are updated. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are supported out of the box, a wireless smartphone is included, and a panoramic roof with a curtain is also provided as standard.

Customers in Thailand can choose from two available powertrains. One mates a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated engine with a Super CVT-i transmission for 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW). The other one adds an electric motor to the same formula, but somehow drops the output to 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW). It also comes with a different transmission called e-CVT. Both are strictly front-wheel-drive.
