The new Toyota Hilux AT44 was born to conquer the Antarctic

Arctic Trucks is famous for its hardcore off-road conversions suitable even for the most demanding adventurers. This Toyota Hilux AT44 six-wheeler is its latest project, and it is advertised as a truck capable of traversing the Antarctic.

The donor car is a Toyota Hilux that gets disassembled to the last screw and put back together with around 80 percent of its frame components replaced with more resilient counterparts. Upgrading the engine and suspension takes another 500 hours.

Power for the build comes from a three-liter diesel engine optimized for a special kind of fuel capable of efficient combustion even in extremely low temperatures. The fuel tank has been expanded to 750 liters, and the truck can be optioned with canisters for up to 1,400 extra liters of fuel. 44-inch tires with dynamic pressure control are also a given.

Arctic Trucks has not yet published the pricing details for the Toyota Hilux AT44 6x6 on its website, but the video here claims it starts from $275,000.
