Fancy-door edition of the Xpeng P7 EV gets a refresh

Compared to the standard Xpeng P7, the Wing Edition is largely the same but sports butterfly-wing doors at the front end. The original P7 received a facelift last fall, and the special series has followed suit now.

The scissor doors go along with regular doors at the back and come loaded with sensors preventing them from damage. The car comes stuffed with premium features including new purple and blue shades for the exterior. 19-inch black wheels, and an exclusive interior trim with a black headliner.

The motor under the hood makes 276 PS (272 hp / 203 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque – 9 horsepower and 50 Newton-meters of torque more than before the refresh. The EV uses an 86.2-kWh battery to cover up to 702 km (436 miles) on a charge. The Wing Edition starts from a hefty 339,900 Yuan, which is 110,000 Yuan above the base version price.

As for the entry-level Xpeng P7, it has been renamed to “P7i” after the facelift. It sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.4 seconds. All higher trims now utilize dual motors rated at 473 PS (467 hp / 348 kW) along with 757 Nm (558 lb-ft) of torque. This is 43 horsepower and 97 Newton-meters more than the old versions had. The sprint time for these dual-motor versions amounts to 3.9 seconds (down from 4.3). The battery runs dry after 610 km (379 miles), though. The company boasts that improved thermal exchange lets drivers go at 190 km/h (118 miles per hour) for 30 minutes straight without the risk of overheating. The acceleration is capped at 200 km/h (124 mph).

Aside from the above, the new P7i sports updated looks and benefits from advanced electronic systems. Among other things, it relies on a Snapdragon 8155 chipset for its infotainment features and an Nvidia Drive Orin chipset for AI-powered driving assists.

Last but not least, improved charging lets owners replenish 240 km (149 miles)’ worth of range in just 10 minutes plugged to a 480kW Xpeng charging station.
