2 of 50 Trans Am Super Duty crop up on sale

The legendary Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has been out of production for decades now, but Florida-based tuner Trans Am Specialties believes it could use a revival. To that end, the company announced building 50 supercars on the fifth-gen Chevy Corvette chassis. Two of these are now up for grabs on their social media.

The first example in blue boasts a Targa roof made from carbon fiber, a low-drag body kit and a red/black interior. More impressively, it packs a 7.4-liter supercharged V8 that gives it supercar-defying 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 747 kW) and 1,418 Nm (1,046 lb-ft) of torque. All this momentum is routed to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

The other car is black with silver wheels and Firebird graphics on the hood. Like its counterpart, it wears new bumpers, a custom radiator grille and new lighting all around. The interior is black and grey with blue piping and the company’s embroidery on the seats.

It’s unclear how many cars out of the originally planned 50 units Trans Am Specialties has built so far. What we do know is that the blue example goes by number 3 and costs $275,000. The black one is number 12 and listed without a price.

If you’d like a closer look at the creations of this auto shop, check out the video. It features a somewhat older and possibly not street-legal example with 1,217 PS (1,200 hp / 895 kW) under the hood.
