The Hispano Suiza Carmen comes limited to 19 units, costs €1.5M

The all-electric supercar Hispano Suiza Carmen will undoubtedly make some ripples at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show coming up in a week, but in the meantime, the manufacturer has released most of its technical specifications.

The hyper-EV comes powered with two rear-axle-mounted engines and a large 80 kWh battery. Its nominal power amounts to a no-nonsense 1,019 hp (760 kW), enabling it to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than three seconds. Charging the car at a rapid-charge station should fill 80% of its battery within 30 minutes, but you may as well leave it overnight plugged into a regular AC socket.

The retro-style grand tourer benefits from an ultra-durable carbon chassis that helps keep its weight as low as 1,690 kg (3,725 lb.). It features carbon-ceramic performance brakes with AP Racing Radi-CAL supports. Further details remain undisclosed at the moment.

Hispano Suiza Fábrica de Automóviles will produce only 19 Carmen cars on the QEV Technologies factory in Spain, each priced at €1,500,000.

Curiously enough, this year’s Geneva show will feature not one, but two different vehicles named “Hispano Suiza”. The other one belongs to the Swiss car manufacturer Hispano Suiza Automobilmanufaktur AG. The two companies are currently engaged in a legal argument to determine who shall hold the rights to the Hispano Suiza brand.
