Aito M6 spied testing ahead of late April premiere

Aito, a Chinese car brand co-created between Huawei and Seres, will be introducing an affordable crossover called the M6 at the Auto China show in Beijing on April 24, 2026. In the meantime, a pre-production sample was spotted testing in a closed loop.

According to CarNewsChina, which provided these photos, the goal was to see how well the systems of the car performed in extreme cold weather (down to –44 ºC, or –47 ºF). Despite the camo wrap, you can still discern active air intakes in the front bumper, five-spoke wheels with red brake calipers behind the spokes and traditional-looking door handles. China is about to ban concealed handles due to how unsafe they are during accidents, and it looks like Aito rushed to account for this legislative change.

Once it is out and about, the M6 will slot in between the company’s smaller M5 and the full-size M7 (see video). This makes it sound like a mid-size crossover SUV, but we’d rather wait until the premiere than engage in guesswork. Powertrain options will most likely include hybrid and battery-electric, and Huawei can be relied upon to supply its infotainment and ADAS hardware as well.
